Our 2011-2012 season begins tomorrow with the first of three preview performances of two one-act plays, Almost Nothing by Marcos Barbosa, translated from Portuguese by Mark O’Thomas, and Day of Absence, by Douglas Turner Ward. Furthermore, on Friday night, Douglas Turner Ward himself will be in attendance for opening night. He will be fĂȘted at a pre-show dinner at Farallon, in one of their private dining rooms on the fourth floor of the same building as our new theatre, 450 Post Street, between Mason and Powell Streets. Curtain is at 8pm, and after Friday’s performance, there will be a VIP reception where patrons may meet Mr. Ward as well as our new artistic director, Steven Anthony Jones, and the casts of both plays.
